26 Nov Frapont commits to sustainable transport with HVO100
In line with our corporate policy of respecting the environment and reducing CO₂ emissions, at Frapont we continue to advance toward more sustainable logistics solutions. After years of relying on the intermodal transport system, this month we have taken a further step by incorporating the use of recycled HVO100 fuel in some of our transport operations.
HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a biofuel produced from organic waste, mainly vegetable-based, which can reduce up to 90% of CO₂ emissions compared to conventional diesel. This type of fuel is widely used in Scandinavian countries and is now being implemented in our operations as well.
Although international and national non-groupage transport will involve an additional cost, we are convinced that this measure represents a responsible investment toward a more sustainable future.
Moreover, aware that the use of sustainable fuels is an increasingly valued requirement by our clients, our logistics operators will provide a “CO₂ Emissions Savings Certificate” detailing this reduction, in the same way we already do with the multimodal system.
Currently, we are working to ensure that 100% of re-dispatch transport from our logistics centers is carried out using electric trucks or HVO100-powered vehicles, further reinforcing our commitment to sustainability across all our operations.
Environmental Commitment and Logistics Excellence
At Frapont, we take responsibility for the environmental impact of the logistics sector and continue to invest in innovative and responsible solutions. This achievement represents another step forward in our commitment to sustainability and our clients.
We continue to advance toward a more efficient, responsible, and environmentally friendly transport model.
