Francisco Pont Beneito was born in 1904. He moved from Valencia to Barcelona in 1928 and quickly began working as a carpenter, continuing the family trade. In 1930, he opened his first shop/workshop at Calle Aragón 589.

Francesc Pont Vidal, son of Francisco Pont Beneito, spent his childhood assisting in his father’s carpentry workshop. He studied as a building engineer (technical architect) and also gained experience at a prominent architectural firm. When his father retired, he passed all his clients and ongoing projects to Francesc Pont Vidal, marking the official foundation of Frapont.
During the 1980s, Frapont took a major step in its national growth. After consolidating its presence in Barcelona, the company undertook its first projects outside the city, including the carpentry for PRYCA supermarket locations in El Prat and Oviedo. This period marked a significant shift in the company’s trajectory, with larger and more complex projects that expanded its presence and recognition across Spain.

On January 31, 1994, thousands watched helplessly as a massive fire consumed the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Shortly after, Frapont was commissioned to contribute to its reconstruction, marking its first involvement in a major auditorium. This project became a milestone, showcasing the company’s capabilities in high-complexity spaces and establishing its reputation for delivering singular and technically demanding projects.
In 1995, Francisco Pont Sanz joined the family business, followed several years later by his sister, Cristina Pont. Their arrival helped define Frapont’s international expansion strategy. The company participated in the construction of the Teatro Manuel de Sintra in Lisbon, marking one of its first major projects outside Spain.

In 2007, Frapont won the competition to execute the carpentry, flooring, and acoustic paneling for the new Oslo Opera House. This project marked the beginning of the company’s consolidation in Scandinavia, which has since become one of its key international markets.
With the new contract for the House of Music in Aalborg, Frapont established its first international subsidiary in Denmark, marking a key milestone in the company’s growth. Subsequent expansions followed in Sweden (2015), Norway (2016), and France (2018), leading to today’s operations, where exports account for over 80% of total revenue.
