ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Frapont executed the interior staircases in the Gnist complex, located in Stavanger, Norway. The development consists of two buildings commissioned by Hinna Park Utvikling, built by HENT, and designed by
Brandsberg-Dahl Arkitekter.

In Jåttåvågen, Stavanger (Norway), Frapont contributed to the Gnist project, one of the region’s most prominent business developments. The project comprises approximately 71,000 m² distributed across two office buildings, both targeting BREEAM-NOR Excellent and WELL certifications, requiring subcontractors’ involvement in material management and certified protocols. Within this framework, Frapont executed the main interior staircases for both buildings, delivering precision and high-quality finishes across all flights.

Frapont’s scope included cladding the handrails over existing metal structures and installing suspended ceilings under the staircases, from level P1 to P6. The work began with on-site template taking and a high degree of coordination and integration with the main 3D model, allowing millimeter-level adjustment on every flight. The handrails were executed with fire-rated MDF panels (Bs1d0), veneered in natural oak. Visible edges were finished in the same material. All elements were installed over a substructure of FSC-certified fire-retardant timber battens, ensuring stability, durability, and full compliance with regulatory standards throughout the project.

The project was completed with the fabrication and installation of upper trims and solid oak handrails, finished with a clear fire-retardant varnish. This intervention highlights Frapont’s technical capability in delivering large-scale, fully customized corporate staircase projects. The precise execution, specialized joinery, and certified fire resistance ensure a high level of finish, functionality, and safety. The interior staircases in both buildings stand out for their elegant design while meeting the highest construction and sustainability standards.

The Gnist project also reinforces our presence in the Norwegian market, where we continue to provide solutions and support to local stakeholders.
