Queen Mary University was Frapont’s first project in the United Kingdom. The project was designed by the renowned London firm Wilkinson Eyre. As part of the overall project to extend the original campus, Frapont was responsible for work on the common areas and auditorium.
The Feature Wall, the main element of the project, is an acoustic cladding using metal and wood slats, between panels upholstered with absorbent fabric. A very special coating in which each plank has a different orientation, achieving a truly spectacular visual effect of very subtle movement.
In addition, all the reception desks in the common areas have been made, in which the integration of materials such as wood, metal and Silestone stand out.
A very interesting project that has forced us to carry out several special acoustic tests, to meet the required technical requirements and make our R&D an added value for our client.
